The Belfast team have made a short video aimed at introducing some of the work of TherMiQ to a wider audience.
Lord Kelvin, one of the pioneers of thermodynamics, was born in Belfast in 1824. His work was important for optimising the performance of steam engines – the most advanced technology available at the time.
TherMiQ could be seen as attempting to do exactly the same for today’s technology, this time using the powerful tools provided by quantum mechanics.
The video will be the first in a series of accessible films focussing on the scope and achievements of TherMiQ.
